8th May 2012

Weddings are now in full swing for 2012, but the weather has not yet turned for the better; it was very cold last Sunday at Ullswater, but the wedding was still lovely. It's that time of the year for prom nights and last weeks Cockermouth 6th formers were a pleasure to capture at their "Leavers Ball" at Hundith Hill Hotel. More weddings for the rest of May, but next week we are also attending a Bridal Fayre on Wednesday evening the 16th at The Greenhill Hotel near Wigton; so if you have a wedding in the next couple of years why not pop along and see all the trades under one roof.

11th April 2012

Weddings are here again! A lovely day on Easter Saturday at Hunday Manor, weather held out. The season starting to build up once more then in full swing in May. More portraits this weekend and a prom night in a couples weeks at Hudith Hill. Tomorrow night is a video night - The Wizzard of Oz. Always busy!

14th February 2012

Valentine's day, traditionally one of the most popular days in the year to get engaged. Remember if recently engaged then booking your wedding services early can save you money, plus it helps you secure the wedding trade you really want. This year we have already attended 5 Bridal Fayres and have 4 left this month alone. Dates for 2013 and 2014 filling up fast. We have very little availability left for 2012. You can never book too early.

18th December 2011

That's it finished for 2011. Just a few portrait orders to finish off. Then it starts straight away in 2012 with our first wedding in January and loads of Bridal shows to attend. May we all at Bayvista Studios wish you all the very best for Christmas and 2012.

5th October 2011

The last five weeks have been our busiest time ever! With most of our wedding including video as well as photography, it has been a push to get everything finished before starting the next one. Portraits have also been very busy, but now I am on the slow down as our family trip to Florida is almost upon us. We will still be answering any emails while away, but re-print orders will be left until November. Really looking forward to some decent weather.

5th September 2011

Weddings have officially taken over my life! Armathwaite Hall is very popular with us this year with seven there so far. A beautiful hotel, but the drink a bit pricey! Quite a few portrait sessions over the past few weeks, maybe families getting in early before the Chrismas rush. Not that many weddings to go until our family holiday to Florida!! Bring it on.

15th July 2011

After a few weeks of lovely weather it is a shame it has to come to an end. Last week we had two local weddings at Seascale and Workington, this weekend we are at Kendal and Lancaster. Very excited as we have a new lens to try. Our new sample Blu-ray DVD is proving popular. Already had some excellent feed back with a number of bookings. Hopefully I will get time this week to build my new Blu-ray duplicator.

6th June 2011

So busy! At least the weather is picking up. Our last three wedding have all been lovely. Wedding bookings for 2013 now coming in with video being very popular once again. Maybe due to the popularity of Blu-ray. Off to London this week for one of our regular jobs. Should have time Thursday evening to relax and enjoy the sites before returning Friday in time for Saturday's wedding at Kendal. Next week another busy one as we get ready for two weddings the week after at Windermere and Barrow-in-Furness.

20th May 2011

Wedding season now in full swing, shame the weather is not any better. Last Saturday a lovely wedding at St. Mary's Catholic Church Harrington followed by an excellent reception at Hunday Manor in Workington. The rock band in the evening were fantastic. Looks like it is going to be another wet one tomorrow at our wedding at Brampton Grange.

10th April 2011

With the wedding season starting in a couple of weeks, it is nice to see the great weather here at last! The good weather certainly brought couples out at today's Wedding Fayre at Carlisle Racecourse. A very busy day, it's a shame we can only capture one wedding per day as there were quite a few couples disappointed to find we are already booked on their chosen date. Still only a few summer Saturdays to fill for 2012, although shouldn't take long to fill them after all the enquiries today.

4th March 2011

Attended another wedding fayre last night, nice to catch up on the crack with other Cumbrian photographers. This weekend is the annual photography show at Birmingham, always an enjoyable trip although can be costly!

24th February 2011

Wedding fayre season now in full swing! Attended three already this year with another four to go. Our next fayre is Thursday the 3rd of March at The Reghed Centre, always very popular. We have the odd Saturday still available this year, but couple's are very keen to reserve their dates for 2012 and 2013. Looking forward to next weekend as it is the annual photography show at the NEC. Hope I don't get tempted by all the lastest gear, I don't want to spend too much!

14th January 2011

Just back from our holiday to Egypt; need to start working again! Need to get accounts sorted, financial year end approching. All next week in London again, not quite Egypt. I have kicked off our marketing campaign for 2011 with a special offer of £250 worth of freebies for any wedding bookings received in January. See main site for details. This time of year loads of wedding fayres to attend. First one in a couple of weeks, then back to the weddings from April.

2nd November 2010

Lovely wedding last Sunday in Grassmere at Wordworths house. Another very nice couple. A video only wedding - many years since we have done that as most want photography these days. In London all this week, makes a nice change.

21st September 2010

Weather held out for our wedding last Saturday. A lovely service at St. Pauls, Seaton, followed by an excellent reception at Hunday Manor. A very well educated bunch of guests with all the speeches keeping everyone entertained. Not many weddings left for this season, now on the wind down for our holiday to Egypt. Ready for it!

14th September 2010

Seems like the portrait season has started early this year and our weddings still haven't finished. This weekend at St. Pauls, Seaton followed by Hunday Manor at Workington for the reception. A lovely hotel with very helpful staff. As usual we hope for good weather. Not a good day yesterday as my main photography PC needed re-built. I'm so pleased I take regular backups.

26th August 2010

Weddings every weekend - August has been the most busy month of the year so far. Only one wedding this weekend at Hundith Hill then things start to get a bit quieter. Ready for a break! Looking forward to our trip to Egypt at the end of the season. Lets hope our last remaining half dozen weddings this year can be dry! Sick of rain! 2010 has not been a good weather year. Soon be the portrait season. Bookings for family portraits already coming through, soon be the big rush for Christmas.

2nd August 2010

Fabulous wedding this week in the lovely setting of Langdale in the Cumbrian Lake District. Shame our UK weather is not so great. At least we managed to capture both the video and photographs before the rain took over. Excellent rock band for the evening party. Our wedding this Friday in Cockermouth also has a band for the evening - The Naturals. Excellent local band for anyone thinking of live entertainment for their party.

27th July 2010

Busy, busy busy! Last weekend at Musncaster Castle. Shame about the rain, but everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. The owls were excellent. This weekend at Langdale in the Lakes. Forcast okay at the moment.

7th July 2010

On the train right now for a two day job in London. Back late Thursday, just in time to get ready for Saturday's wedding at Ullswater. Hope the weather holds up, forcasted rain. Now past the middle of the wedding season with only 14 weddings left for the summer. Soon be Christmas and into the portrait season.

27th June 2010

Festival in Whitehaven this weekend has been fantastic. Our kids loved the Red Arrows. Shame about England performance in the world cup. Well there's always Brazil in 2014. Back to work tomorrow - get ready for two weddings next weekend. Hope this weather continues to be so good.

26th June 2010

Another beautiful day here in the Cumbria. Last weekend in Windermere was excellent as we captured John and Rachel's wedding day by the Lake. A big thanks to Mark the bestman who was a great help gathering guests for us. Maritime festival this weekend in Whitehaven (my home town) so I have planned a weekend off with the family, only one portrait session tomorrow morning, before the big match at 3pm. Let's hope England can do the business against Germany!

17th June 2010

Beautiful weather here in Cumbria today, but stuck inside working! Finishing off post wedding work from last weekend and starting pre-wedding work for this weekend. Hope it clouds over a bit before the weekend, all this brightness doesn’t make it easy, but at least it puts everyone in a good mood, on top my prediction for Friday - England win 3-0!

14th June 2010

With one on Friday and another on Saturday, it has been very busy. An early start on Friday with the Bride's preparations at home in Whitehaven followed by a lovely service at St. James. A photographers nightmare with the brightness of the weather, but it created a fantastic atmosphere for Karl and Lara for the reception at Armathwaite Hall.

Saturday’s wedding was not as bright, but was still very warm. The Greenhill hotel at Wigton was the setting for another excellent day. Although time seemed to pass very quickly for Sarah and Christopher, there was a perfect atmosphere once again. The speeches were of high calibre with the two bestmen doing a great job keeping everyone entertained.
